About MSD Athletics

At the Maryland School for the Deaf (MSD), athletics are an important part of the holistic educational experience for our students. We aim to cultivate a culture committed to excellence in academics, athletics, and character development.

Beyond promoting health and fitness, our athletics program is dedicated to teaching and developing essential physical and mental skills, including self-discipline, motivation, and sportsmanship. Our student-athletes also learn the ideals of fair play and integrity in sports that are necessary for competition.

Our athletics program provides students with opportunities to develop lifelong teamwork skills through collaborative team participation. Additionally, we strive to foster a sense of community, encourage the growth of leadership skills, and offer enriching social experiences that contribute to their overall growth and success.

Athletic opportunities are available at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
